2016 West Coast Road Trip
What Do You Do When He Doesn't Get in the Car...
What do you do when your significant other won't get in the car? Chad and I will be going on a road trip vacation to the west coast lasting three weeks, but he insists on stalling. Unfortunately, I will have to wait for him to feel ready to leave. Today marks mile zero in Katie and Chad’s road trip adventure to the west coast.
We will be hoping our trek will take us to Colorado, Arizona and California with random stops and states in between. But as of now, the car is not packed, Chad has decided to do everything under the sun before he even considers packing and I am patiently waiting for him to get his thoughts together.
Soon we will be going on a trip of a life time! Over the course of this adventure, I will be documenting our travels as well as shedding light on the two characters in this story; Katie and Chad.
“Katie, we need survival tools and we are out of Dawn for my survival pack. We better go to the store and get it.” - Chad
On this trip I will be looking forward to seeing new sites, meeting unique people and understanding how two people can co-habit in a diesel Jetta for 3 weeks. There will be plenty of pictures, stories and thoughts to share as this trip unfolds.
With the conclusion of this post, Chad has finally settled and asked, “are you sure you still want to go? You can back out now if you want to.”
And so the trip begins…

5 Things to Bring On a Road Trip with Chad
- Ear buds – He insists on hands free phone calls
- Coconut oil – For burns, moisturizer, deodorant and used as cooking oil
- Canned venison – Apparently he likes to eat
- Hair Binders – Having a man bun is a lot of work
- Technical anything – If the supplies can be used technically then they are game to join on the adventure
