Vacation at Home

Day 46: The Morning After Chaos. Chad and I arrived home in Woodbury, MN on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 around 10 p.m after having spent the day in Milwaukee, WI. What a road trip!
The next few days were spent decompressing, finally stretching out flat on the floor to un-kink bent spines, and catching up with our roommate’s family.

On Day 46, Chad and I decided to explore Up Town, Minneapolis (specifically Lake Calhoun, Chad’s favorite place to run). We drove with the rollerblades all over the country and finally used them when we returned home. Oops! Having showers available really changes the game! 1 lap running + 1 lap rollerblading = 6.2 miles 😊
Water Park Time
No more than two days at home, our roommate and his lady, the kiddos, Chad and I all piled back into the car and spent a night at the Great Wolf Lodge Water Park to celebrate Avery’s 10th birthday.

This also marks the only hotel we’ve stayed at during the entire trip! AND! It was in Bloomington, Minnesota of all places!!
We all enjoyed the escape to summer while hiding indoors at the water park! The breakfast buffet was super yummmmmy.
Hopping into Reality
So, the car stinks like humans. And there is gear to clean, people to see, things to do and the chaos of hopping back into reality. Wow. It has been a wild few weeks back and so much has happened (also kinda stalled from writing because I was kinda annoyed by it! After writing for over 45 days, it gets to be a lot.)
The Word Doc used to write the blog is at about 118 pages... so, congrats to all who followed along on the journey, you read a small book haha.
We covered the interior with baking soda for a few days in the garage to absorb our stench and then gave Hall a good vacuuming. Soon we will break out the carpet cleaner and really get the stains out. Volkswagen fabric is not great with handling any kind of spills....even water leaves marks!
